To open the Email Options window, click the Edit Email Options button in the Send Email Message panel or select it in the Settings menu in the ARELIS main window.
The Email Options window allows you to edit the settings for composing and sending your email messages. The window contains three panels: the Email Account panel, the Email Message Composing panel and the Email Message Templates panel.
The Email Account panel
| It's very important that you enter your email information in this panel. If you don't, ARELIS cannot send email messages.

| SMTP is the standard for sending mails through the Internet. Note that AOL and MSN (Hotmail) don't follow the standard. They don't offer SMTP servers.
|
| Ask your web space provider or your ISP (Internet Service Provider) for the name of the SMTP server. If the provider doesn't offer an SMTP server, sign up for a free email service that offers an SMTP server. Search for "email account" on your favorite search engine to find an email service that offers standard POP and SMTP servers.

| If sending emails doesn't work after entering your SMTP server information, click the "Sending emails requires POP login first" box and enter your POP server information.

The Email Message Composing panel
| Font to compose your email messages:

| Select the font and the font size that is used to display the message text in the Send Email Message panel in the main window. The font and the font size will not be used when sending your email message. The recipient's email client decides which font is used to display your email message.

| When you select a web site in the list to write an email message:
|
| ...start with a blank message
|
| If you select this option, ARELIS will empty the email message edit field when you select a web site in the web site list.
|
| ...start with this template
|
| If you select this option, the email message edit field will contain the text of the selected email template when you select a web site in the web site list.
|
| Wrap email message at so many characters per line
|
| Select this option if you want ARELIS to automatically insert line breaks when the email message is sent, at x characters per line. Setting this option will make your email messages look better.

| Send a copy of all email messages to yourself
|
| If you want to receive a copy of all email messages that you send with ARELIS, select this option. You can receive the copied email message with your standard email client.
|
| Play sound after sending the email message
|
| If you select that option, ARELIS plays a sound after sending an email message.
|
| Jump to the next web site in the list after sending the email message
|
| If you select that option, ARELIS will select the next web site (in the web site list of the main window) after sending an email message. This allows you to quickly email potential link partners after having evaluated their sites.

The Email Message Templates panel
| ARELIS allows you to use email templates and template variables to quickly send personalized email message to potential link partners. For example, you could write "I've just visited your site <<recipientURL>>. ARELIS will automatically replace the text "<<recipientURL>>" with the URL of the potential link partner site.

| Enter a text for your email template in the template text edit field. To insert a template variable, use the "Insert Template Variable" popup menu. The templates you create in this panel can then accessed and inserted into your email message with the "Replace message with template" popup menu in the Send Email Message panel in the main window.
