How to preview a web site The preview browser allows you to quickly preview the potential link partners from the list. Just double-click on a URL in the list and it will be displayed in the preview browser: 
The preview browser works like a normal web browser. We've disabled JavaScript and ActiveX controls in the preview browser so that you don't get pop up windows and other annoying web page elements that slow down the preview process. To get further information about a web site, click the Alexa, AllTheWeb or Yahoo buttons above the preview browser. They will give you further information about a site, including traffic statistics, number of incoming links, etc. To search for a special word on the opened web page, click the little search icon next to the Yahoo button. To open the web page in your normal web browser, click the expand icon which is the right-most icon on the toolbar. How do I determine the quality of potential link partners? What to do if a web page is suitable for your link page If you think that a web page is suitable for your link pages, check the "Include in link pages" box for that web page in the list. All web pages that have a ticked box will be included in your link pages when you use the Create link pages feature. You should also assign the web page a category and a sub category. Categories and sub categories make your link pages much easier to navigate. Another advantage of using many categories and sub categories is that your link partners will find your link to their site on a web page that contains links that are related to their site. That makes a link from you to them much more valuable. If you think that a special link partner in a category or sub category is more important than another one, you can change the number in the "Weight" column. Link partners that have higher "Weight" numbers will be listed higher than link partners with lower "Weight" number on your link pages. If you want, you can also change the Status of that link partner in the list after reviewing it to further classify the web page. The Status column makes it easier for you to quickly find out if you've already previewed or contacted a site. The Status text is only used for your management, it's not used to create your link pages. What to do if a web page is not suitable for your link pages If you think that a web page is not suitable for your link directory, just press the Remove key on your keyboard. ARELIS will remove that web page from the list and add it to a "filter list". That means that ARELIS won't add that web page again to the list when you search for new link partners. How to quickly add a web page that you've manually entered in the preview browser The small Add icon next to the search icon in the toolbar above the preview browser allows you to quickly add a web page to the list if you've manually entered a URL in the preview browser. Just click that button to add the currently displayed web page to the list. |
